Sprinklr interview questions - a complete guide
Sprinklr's rounds are reported to be DSA-heavy - sliding windows, DP, trees and graphs - plus an LLD round. Here is how to prepare for all of it.
About Sprinklr
Sprinklr gives companies software to connect with customers on social media and other channels - what is being said about a brand, customer complaints, marketing. It is headquartered in New York, with a lot of engineering in Gurugram and Bengaluru.
This guide covers 12 Sprinklr interview questions with answers - what each question checks and how to answer it - plus the Sprinklr interview process, round by round, a 7-day preparation plan for freshers, tips and the mistakes to avoid.
Sprinklr hiring process
Online test
Reported: 3 DSA questions (such as sliding window and knapsack).
Technical rounds (2-3)
Trees, graphs, DP and an LLD (such as a file system in C++).
HR
Confidence, communication and fit.
Sprinklr does not publish its India fresher interview process in detail (as of our check). This is based on candidate reports - many of them for experienced roles, so the fresher process can differ. Confirm with the recruiter.

Sprinklr interview questions and answers
DSA
1.How would you solve knapsack with a 1D array, and why does the loop run backwards?
- What they're checking
- DP space optimisation.
- How to answer
- dp[w] = max(dp[w], dp[w - wt] + val), with w going down from the capacity. Backwards so each item is used only once - going forwards turns it into the unbounded knapsack.
2.How many distinct elements are in each window of size K?
- What they're checking
- Sliding window + hashing.
- How to answer
- Counts in a map; as the window moves, add the new one and decrease the old one (remove it from the map at 0). The map's size for each window. O(n).
3.The distance (in edges) between two nodes of a binary tree.
- What they're checking
- Trees - using the LCA.
- How to answer
- Find the LCA of both; distance = depth(a) + depth(b) - 2 * depth(LCA).
4.How many connections apart are two users in a social network?
- What they're checking
- Graph BFS.
- How to answer
- BFS from one user, counting levels. In a big graph, BFS from both sides (bidirectional) is faster.
5.Can a string be split into dictionary words?
- What they're checking
- DP on strings.
- How to answer
- dp[i] = whether the first i characters can be split. dp[0] = true; for each i, look for j where dp[j] is true and s[j..i] is in the dictionary. Keep the dictionary in a set.
LLD and C++
6.LLD of an in-memory file system in C++ - mkdir, ls, addContentToFile, readContentFromFile.
- What they're checking
- This exact LLD has come up in reports.
- How to answer
- A Node class (name, isFile, content, a children map - std::map for sorted ls). Split the path by '/' and walk from the root; mkdir creates what is missing. ls on a file returns just its name.
7.What is the difference between map and unordered_map in C++?
- What they're checking
- C++ basics.
- How to answer
- map is a red-black tree - sorted, O(log n). unordered_map is a hash table - O(1) on average, no order, bad worst case. Use map when you need sorting.
8.How would you build hashtag autocomplete - top 5 suggestions as you type?
- What they're checking
- Trie + ranking.
- How to answer
- Hashtags in a trie; keep the top 5 (by popularity) for each prefix at its node in advance - answers come instantly as you type. Update along the path when popularity changes.
Product thinking and HR
9.Millions of mentions arrive every minute - how would you find trending topics?
- What they're checking
- Sprinklr's data scale.
- How to answer
- Count topics in small time windows (a count-min sketch saves memory), compare with the past average - whatever jumped suddenly is trending. Top K with a heap.
10.How would you sort social media posts into positive/negative (high level)?
- What they're checking
- Understanding the AI product.
- How to answer
- Train a model on labelled posts (simple first, then a transformer). Sarcasm, Hinglish and emojis are hard - include examples of them in the data.
11.How do you stay confident when the interviewer challenges your answer?
- What they're checking
- Confidence has been reported in HR.
- How to answer
- Don't panic - understand their point again, explain your logic, and if you are wrong, admit it at once and correct it. Confidence doesn't mean stubbornness.
12.Why Sprinklr?
- What they're checking
- Motivation.
- How to answer
- Why customer experience and social data problems interest you - and your appetite for working at scale.
7-day preparation plan for the Sprinklr interview
- Day 1: Sliding window - five problems.
- Day 2: DP - knapsack variants, word break.
- Day 3: Trees - LCA, distance, diameter.
- Day 4: Graphs - BFS, connected components.
- Day 5: LLD - a file system in C++.
- Day 6: Tries and heaps.
- Day 7: A timed OA mock (three problems) + HR practice.
Preparation tips
- DP (knapsack, strings) and sliding windows - reported in the OA.
- C++ STL well - map, unordered_map, priority_queue.
- Code an LLD like the file system yourself once.
- Practise speaking with confidence for HR.
Mistakes to avoid
- Writing recursion for DP and forgetting memoization.
- One big function instead of classes in LLD.
- One-word answers in the HR round.
