About Meesho

Meesho is an Indian e-commerce platform known especially for buyers and sellers in smaller cities. Its engineering deals with catalogue, orders and low-cost delivery at a large scale.

This guide covers 13 Meesho interview questions with answers - what each question checks and how to answer it - plus the Meesho interview process, round by round, a 7-day preparation plan for freshers, tips and the mistakes to avoid.

Meesho hiring process

  1. Step 1: Online assessment

Usually 3 coding questions (such as 2 medium, 1 hard) in ~105 minutes, sometimes with CS MCQs. Some off-campus drives start with an AI-based verbal screening.

  2. Step 2: DSA and machine coding

Graphs, DP, arrays; and a round building a working system.

  3. Step 3: Design and hiring manager

Low-level design (OOP basics), and your resume line by line.

Meesho does not publish its fresher hiring process in detail (as of our check). This information is based on candidate reports and varies by role, city and drive - read the official job posting before you apply.

Meesho interview questions and answers

Online assessment and DSA

  1. 1.Find the longest common subsequence.

    What they're checking
DP - a variation has been reported.
    How to answer
    dp[i][j] = 1 + dp[i-1][j-1] if the characters match, otherwise max(dp[i-1][j], dp[i][j-1]). O(n·m).
  2. 2.Find the first negative number in every window.

    What they're checking
    The deque/queue pattern.
    How to answer
Keep indices of negative numbers in a queue; drop the out-of-window ones from the front; the front is the answer.
  3. 3.Cheapest flights with at most k stops.

    What they're checking
    Graphs - a modified BFS/Bellman-Ford.
    How to answer
Relax edges for k+1 rounds (Bellman-Ford style) or BFS with the number of stops.

Machine coding and design

  1. 4.Machine coding: build a product reviews and ratings system.

    What they're checking
    Reported - working, extensible code.
    How to answer
Product, Review (rating, text, user), add a review, the average rating, sort/filter reviews. Core first, then extras (helpful votes).
  2. 5.Low-level design: cab booking.

    What they're checking
OOP fundamentals - reports say basics matter more than patterns.
    How to answer
Rider, Driver, Ride, Location; book, assign the nearest driver, complete. Clear relationships between classes and one or two methods.
  3. 6.How would you change your design for a new feature?

    What they're checking
    Extensibility.
    How to answer
Add a new class/strategy without breaking the old code - through an interface.

Hiring manager

  1. 7.How do you prepare for questions on every point of your resume?

    What they're checking
Reports say the hiring manager goes through the resume line by line.
    How to answer
For each point: what you did, how, the result, and what you learned - a minute each.
  2. 8.Why Meesho?

    What they're checking
    Motivation.
    How to answer
Bringing e-commerce to smaller cities - whatever genuinely appeals to you.
  3. 9.How would you think about a feature for value-conscious users?

    What they're checking
    Product sense.
    How to answer
Cheap delivery, easy returns, local languages - one idea and how to measure it.

More questions

  1. 10.Explain the 0/1 knapsack.

    What they're checking
    DP.
    How to answer
dp[i][w] = take the item or not - whichever gives more value. O(n·W).
  2. 11.Find the shortest path in an unweighted graph.

    What they're checking
    BFS.
    How to answer
BFS level by level - the first time you reach the destination is the shortest.
  3. 12.How would you build a 'ship this order by' reminder system for sellers?

    What they're checking
    Domain + design.
    How to answer
A ship-by date for each order; a scheduler checks daily and sends a notification in advance.
  4. 13.What trade-off did you make in a project on your resume?

    What they're checking
The hiring manager asks line by line.
    How to answer
What you chose, what you gave up, and why - one specific example.

7-day preparation plan for the Meesho interview

  1. Day 1: DP - LCS, knapsack.
  2. Day 2: Deques and sliding windows.
  3. Day 3: Graphs - BFS, shortest paths.
  4. Day 4: Machine coding - a reviews system, 90 minutes.
  5. Day 5: LLD - cab booking, parking lot.
  6. Day 6: Prepare every point on your resume.
  7. Day 7: A full mock OA (three questions).

Preparation tips

  • In the OA, do the easier questions first, then the hard one.
  • Practise both machine coding and LLD - with strong OOP basics.
  • Put only what you can explain in full detail on your resume.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Poor time management in machine coding - chasing the optimal and having nothing that runs.
  • Naming design patterns in LLD with weak basics.
  • Exaggerating on your resume.
