LTIMindtree interview questions and answers
Technical round
1.What are time complexity and Big-O?
- What they're checking
- Whether you understand code efficiency.
- How to answer
- A measure of how much slower code gets as the input grows. A loop = O(n), a nested loop = O(n²), binary search = O(log n).
2.What is hashing?
- What they're checking
- Data structures.
- How to answer
- Turning a key into an index with a function so you can find it quickly - like a HashMap. Also explain what a collision is and how it is handled.
3.Explain the MVC architecture.
- What they're checking
- Software design basics.
- How to answer
- Model (data), View (what the user sees), Controller (the logic between them). Give the example of a web app.
4.What is Docker / a container?
- What they're checking
- Awareness of modern deployment.
- How to answer
- An app and everything it needs in one package - it runs the same way on every machine.
5.What is the difference between DELETE, TRUNCATE and DROP in SQL?
- What they're checking
- SQL basics.
- How to answer
- DELETE = remove selected rows (can be rolled back), TRUNCATE = remove all rows but keep the table, DROP = remove the whole table.
HR round
6.Are you ready for rotational shifts and relocation?
- What they're checking
- Common in service roles.
- How to answer
- An honest, clear answer. If you are ready, say so without hesitation; if there is a genuine problem, explain it politely.
7.What was your contribution to the project?
- What they're checking
- Hands-on work.
- How to answer
- Be specific - which module, which problem you solved, what you learned.
8.Why LTIMindtree?

- Research.
- How to answer

9.How does merge sort work?
- What they're checking
- Divide and conquer.
- How to answer
- Keep halving the array, build small sorted pieces, then merge them. O(n log n) in every case, but it needs extra space.
10.What is the difference between PUT and POST in HTTP?
- What they're checking
- API basics.
- How to answer
- POST creates a new resource (sending it twice can create two). PUT replaces/updates a resource (sending it twice gives the same result - idempotent).
11.What is the difference between merge and rebase in Git?
- What they're checking
- Team workflow.
- How to answer
- Merge joins both histories with a merge commit. Rebase replays your commits on a new base, keeping the history straight.
12.What is a view in SQL?
- What they're checking
- DBMS.
- How to answer
- A saved query that looks like a table - used to simplify complex queries and to control access.
