Freshworks interview questions and answers

JavaScript

  1. 1.What is a JavaScript closure? Give an example.

    What they're checking
JS closures have come up in reports.
    How to answer
A function that remembers the variables outside it even after the outer function has finished - like a counter function.
  2. 2.How are promises and async/await related?

    What they're checking
    Async JS.
    How to answer
A promise is a future value. async/await is a way to write promises like straight-line code; await waits until the promise settles.
  3. 3.How does the event loop work?

    What they're checking
    Depth in JS.
    How to answer
When the call stack is empty it takes work from the queues; microtasks (promises) first, then macrotasks (setTimeout).
  4. 4.What is the difference between == and === in JavaScript?

    What they're checking
    JS basics.
    How to answer
== converts types before comparing; === compares both type and value - === is always better.

DSA and design

  1. 5.Find the longest subarray with a sum of 0.

    What they're checking
    Prefix sum + hashing.
    How to answer
Store the first index of each prefix sum in a map; if the same prefix sum appears again, the part in between sums to 0.
  2. 6.How would you assign support tickets by priority?

    What they're checking
    Design tied to Freshworks's domain.
    How to answer
A priority queue (urgency, customer tier, time); assign by the agents' availability and skills.
  3. 7.In a multi-tenant SaaS, how would you keep one customer's data separate from another's?

    What they're checking
    SaaS design.
    How to answer
A tenant_id on every row and a filter on every query, or a separate schema/database - a trade-off between security and cost.
  4. 8.Find the busy slots from a list of flight departure times.

    What they're checking
A flight times question has been reported.
    How to answer
Sort the times; use a sliding window or events to find where many flights fall together.

Testing and HR

  1. 9.Write test cases for a login page.

    What they're checking
Older reports mention a manual testing round.
    How to answer
Right/wrong password, empty fields, SQL injection, very long input, repeated wrong tries (lockout), and 'forgot password'.
  2. 10.Why Freshworks?

    What they're checking
    Motivation.
    How to answer
An Indian SaaS company that sells worldwide - whatever genuinely appeals to you.
  3. 11.Tell me about a time you changed something based on customer or user feedback.

    What they're checking
    Customer focus.
    How to answer
The feedback, the change, and the effect.
  4. 12.How did you protect quality on a tight deadline?

    What they're checking
    Priorities.
    How to answer
Reduced the scope, kept the tests, and wrote down what was left out.
