Tips that work with or without an assistant
- It is fine to ask "Could you say that again?" once - most people are happy to.
- Repeat the question in your own words before answering: "So you'd like to know..."
- Short sentences are easier to say well than long ones.
- Prepare the five questions you are most likely to be asked, and practise them aloud.
